Our vision is to be one church family, gathered in the presence of Jesus and sent to make disciple makers - helping ordinary people hear Jesus, obey Jesus, become like Jesus and help others follow Him.
One Church, Two Expressions
The first expression is The Well gathered as one church family. We come together to worship Jesus, encounter His presence, receive biblical teaching, use the gifts of the Spirit, care for one another and equip every generation.
The second expression is a disciple-making and church-planting movement. We go into everyday life to find people who are open to Jesus, begin simple Discovery Bible Studies, make obedient disciples and develop new leaders. As these disciples and groups multiply, they can become complete local bodies of Christ - churches in their own right, with their own leaders and shared life, able to continue and multiply without dependence upon The Well, but still connected by relationship.
The Well can serve as a sending and equipping church, continuing in love, prayer, encouragement and accountable relationships, while recognising these new churches as genuine expressions of Christ's body rather than simply permanent small groups of The Well.
We do not want merely to attract more people to meetings. We want to see people saved, healed, restored, baptised, filled with the Holy Spirit and equipped to make disciples themselves - locally, across London and Basildon, and among the nations.
Our Five Priorities
Our main goal everyday is to encounter Jesus; through Prayer, worship, the Holy Spirit and intimacy with Jesus remain at the centre of our lives
We help people move from attending church to hearing and obeying Jesus in everyday life.
Ordinary believers are equipped to find people of peace, lead Discovery Bible Studies, make disciples and release new leaders. The aim is disciples who make disciples, leaders who raise leaders, and churches that plant churches. New spiritual families can mature into complete churches in their own right.
London and Basildon remain one church family, with children, young people, adults and vulnerable people welcomed, protected and helped to flourish.
We serve our communities while strengthening disciple-making and church planting among the nations.
Come and see. Grow and become. Go and make disciples.
The gathered church and disciple-making movement are not competing visions. Sundays provide celebration, family, worship, teaching, equipping and spiritual oversight. The disciple-making expression takes mission into homes, friendships, workplaces and communities. Groups may multiply, raise their own leaders and become new churches in their own right.
The Well remains a loving sending family, celebrating kingdom fruit wherever it grows. Our aim is not dependence upon us, but reproduction: making disciples who make disciples and planting churches that plant churches.
